Bio:

Karen J. Wilson, LMSW is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) providing therapy under supervision at Maryland Psychiatric Care while working toward licensure as a Licensed Certified Social Worker–Clinical (LCSW-C). She brings over 27 years of experience in education, community outreach, and social services to her work with adolescents, adults, families, and caregivers. Karen utilizes a strengths-based, client-centered approach informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and psychoeducation, with sensitivity to clients’ values, cultural background, and—when desired—faith-based perspectives.

Clients can expect a warm, collaborative, and supportive therapeutic environment where concerns are addressed at a pace that feels safe and empowering. Karen has a special interest in grief and loss and is currently pursuing her Financial Social Work Certification to further support clients navigating emotional and financial stressors. She is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate life transitions, manage emotional overwhelm, strengthen coping skills, build resilience, and connect with practical resources that support overall well-being.
