Gwendolyn Lindsey, MA, MBA
Chief Executive Officer
Gwendolyn Lindsey serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Maryland Psychiatric Care, bringing a distinguished 33-year career in healthcare practice management to the helm of the organization. Her extensive background across a wide variety of medical specialties has shaped her into a versatile and visionary leader, uniquely equipped to navigate the complexities of the modern mental health landscape.
Gwendolyn’s leadership is anchored by a sophisticated academic portfolio that bridges the gap between clinical understanding and corporate strategy. She earned an Associate of Arts in Science before completing her Bachelor of Science at the University of Pittsburgh. She then transitioned into advanced graduate studies at the Florida Institute of Technology, where she earned both a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Leadership.
As CEO, Gwendolyn is dedicated to fostering an environment where clinical excellence and operational efficiency coexist. By integrating her deep knowledge of psychological principles with executive business strategy, she ensures that Maryland Psychiatric Care remains a premier provider of compassionate, high-standard behavioral health services.
Marshall James, CRNP-PMH
Medical Director/CFO
Marshall James, CRNP-PMH, serves as the Medical Director of Maryland Psychiatric Care, LLC, where he provides clinical leadership, program oversight, and evidence-based psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and adults. As Medical Director, Marshall is responsible for guiding clinical standards, supervising treatment protocols, supporting multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring high-quality, compliant, and patient-centered care across all service lines.
Marshall is a retired United States Navy veteran who proudly served as a Hospital Corpsman, a role that laid the foundation for his lifelong commitment to healthcare, service, and leadership. His military background instilled a strong sense of discipline, accountability, and compassion, which continue to shape his approach to both clinical practice and organizational leadership.
He began his civilian career on an adult inpatient psychiatric unit, where he gained extensive experience working with individuals experiencing severe mental illness, acute psychiatric crises, and co-occurring substance use disorders. His clinical background spans a wide range of psychiatric conditions, allowing him to approach treatment with depth, flexibility, and a strong appreciation for each individual’s unique strengths and challenges.
Marshall has advanced training and experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families, and he emphasizes a patient-centered, collaborative approach to care. He believes in empowering individuals through education, shared decision-making, and individualized treatment planning. His practice integrates therapy, medication management when clinically indicated, and holistic strategies that support long-term stability and recovery.
As a leader, Marshall is a strong advocate for expanding access to mental health services through the responsible use of technology He believes that mental health care should be accessible, effective, and stigma-free, regardless of diagnosis severity. Through compassionate leadership and clinical excellence, Marshall remains committed to helping individuals and families improve mental wellness and reach their fullest potential.
Dr. Anita Marade, LCSW-C, BCD
Clinical Director
Dr. Anita Marade, LCSW-C, BCD, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than twenty-five years of experience in the mental health field. She has worked with the Department of Defense and served as a contractor for both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force, giving her a strong and nuanced understanding of military culture. In addition, she served as the Psychological Health Coordinator with the U.S. Army and worked at the Arlington National Guard Bureau in Arlington, Virginia.
Dr. Marade earned her Doctorate in Education with a specialization in Counseling Psychology in August 2011. Her dissertation, “Examining Anger and Alcohol Use to Risk of Assault Among Adult Male Offenders of Domestic Violence,” reflects her extensive work and research in domestic violence and behavioral health.
She currently serves as the Clinical Director at Maryland Psychiatric Care, bringing a broad depth of knowledge and leadership to her role. Her professional background includes extensive experience working with military populations, domestic violence cases, mental health disorders, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) clients.
Dr. Marade has completed the required coursework to obtain the EAS-C credential as well as Critical Incident training, qualifying her to provide Employee Assistance Program services. She is known for offering empathy, compassion, and skilled clinical support to individuals in need of counseling services.
Young Kwon Kim, LPC, LCPC, NCC
Clinical Supervisor
Young Kwon Kim is a licensed psychotherapist in Virginia and Maryland and serves as a Clinical Supervisor at Maryland Psychiatric Care. He brings extensive experience across inpatient psychiatric units, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, emergency room crisis services, and outpatient treatment settings. His clinical background includes work in high-acuity hospital environments and in community and shelter settings that support vulnerable populations.
In addition to providing therapy, Young supervises and mentors clinicians, fostering ethical, thoughtful, and compassionate care. He approaches therapy and supervision with a heart-centered perspective, believing that meaningful human connection is foundational to healing. Young is committed to helping individuals rediscover hope, strengthen resilience, and experience whole-person growth.
