Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) Specialist
Description

Maryland Psychiatric Care, LLC (MPC) is seeking compassionate, motivated, and client-centered Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) Specialists to join our growing multidisciplinary team. PRP Specialists play a vital role in supporting individuals with serious mental illness by promoting recovery, independence, and community integration through structured, skill-based rehabilitation services.

This position involves working directly with adults, adolescents, and/or children in home, community, and clinical settings to help clients develop skills necessary for successful daily functioning, stability, and long-term recovery.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized PRP services in accordance with the client’s Individualized Rehabilitation Plan (IRP)
  • Assist clients in developing and strengthening daily living skills, coping strategies, social skills, and self-management abilities
  • Support clients with community integration, resource linkage, and coordination of care
  • Collaborate with therapists, psychiatric providers, case managers, schools, families, and external agencies
  • Provide psychoeducation related to mental health symptoms, medication adherence, wellness, and recovery goals
  • Observe, document, and report client progress, barriers, and behavioral concerns in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain complete, compliant, and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) per COMAR, Medicaid, and CARF standards
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, supervision, and required trainings
  • Adhere to all MPC policies, ethical standards, confidentiality (HIPAA), and safety protocols
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with individuals with mental health diagnoses or
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, or a related field (preferred)
  • Knowledge of serious mental illness, recovery-oriented care, and community-based services
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in the community and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and active auto insurance
  • Ability to pass background check and credentialing requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing PRP services in Maryland
  • Familiarity with Medicaid documentation and medical necessity standards
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or high-risk populations
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
