Bio:

Stephanie R. Watson, MBA, MSW, LMSW, ADT is a Licensed Master Social Worker and Alcohol & Drug Trainee who brings a unique blend of lived experience, clinical expertise, and authenticity into the therapeutic space. As a federal government retiree, she understands firsthand what it means to reinvent oneself. After completing a full career in public service, she made the intentional decision to return to school and pursue her calling as a therapist, driven by a passion for helping individuals navigate change, healing, and personal growth.

Over the past five years, she has worked in progressive clinical roles as an Alcohol & Drug Trainee and MSW intern, becoming licensed as a Licensed Master Social Worker in 2024. During this time, she has supported complex and high-acuity populations, including individuals reintegrating into society following incarceration, survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and clients presenting with severe trauma histories and personality-related challenges.

Her professional background includes work in Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault services, along with specialized training in Substance Use Disorders and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She has experience working with individuals across the lifespan, supporting clients from early childhood through older adulthood, with ages ranging from 5 to 82.

She has extensive clinical experience supporting individuals presenting with anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), and substance use disorders, including relapse prevention. She also provides grief therapy and supports clients navigating trauma-related concerns such as unresolved childhood experiences (developmental or attachment-related trauma), psychogeriatric issues, and major life transitions. She strongly believes that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process and utilizes evidence-based interventions tailored to each client’s unique needs, strengths, and goals.

In her work, she brings her full, authentic self into the therapy space and believes that connection is essential to meaningful change. Sessions may be reflective, structured, and occasionally conversational, as rapport and comfort are foundational to effective therapeutic work. She meets clients exactly where they are and walks alongside them toward where they want to be, balancing compassion with practical guidance throughout the therapeutic journey.

Motto: “No judgment. No perfection. Just real work and real growth.”
